JLTicketCity
Documentation
Installing guide, setup and getting started guides.
All the instructions refer to JLTicketCity component in Joomla Administrator.
To get started with JLTicketCity component you should sign up to sign up for an affiliate account at http://www.TicketCity.com/Affiliates/.
After you get approval mail from www.ticketCity.com, ask them (by mail) for an API key.
When you get an API key – Log in your Joomla administrator, go to "component->JLTicketCity" component management, click [Parameters] button and insert the API Key in the API key field.
You should import Countries, States (if you are interested in USA events), Cities and Performers data in back-end.
This data will help you to manage your menus, and let your system work faster (using local data instead of calling API).
However the system can work without importing all the data, because when some data is missing or not up-to-date, API is called and completes the missing/updates data.
After JLTicketCity API is ready, you should start to import the data.
Log in to your Joomla administrator, go to "component->JLTicketCity" component, switch to "Country" View – and press [Import Country]. This action should be done once, and it will import the country data to your system.
Repeat this action for States and any Country, State or City that you would like to catch in your system.
Switch to "Performers" view and import performer's data.
Notes:
(1) in each line at Country, States and Cities views there are options to import data only for the current line (country/state or city). You can import all the cities for one country or a few (as many as you wish) and so with venues and events.
(2) In case the component is requested for a country/state or city that hasn't been imported to your system, the component willrequest the missing data from www.ticketcity.com API.
(3) Please note that if you try to import data blocks that are too big(like import of all a country's cities at once or all venues at once), your server will reach its timeout, and output an error.
JLTicketCity can manage performers by categories.
Switch to "Categories" view in JLTicketCity component and create as many categories as you wish.
Change view to "Performers" and [edit] any Performer you would like. When editing a performer you can write your own description about the performer and assign it to a category.
"Performer" in JLTicketCity means any one that takes part in an event - it can be a sport team, a music band and so on.
Creating a JLTicketCity menu entry is like any other Joomla menu.
You can select from various views like:
JLTicketCity has it's own cart and has a cart module that shows if there are tickets in the cart or not.
You can set JLTicketCity module like any other Joomla module.
At the moment we give support to registered users by mail.
